OTC Genisys programming
OTC Genisys programming
So I have this tool
http://www.genisysotc.com/
It has a section called GM SPS reprogramming. I don't think I acctually have that program for it yet, I need to do updates on it, but if/when I do get it, do you think it should be able to program a computer in our cars. My father is a mechanic, but dose not do to much in that area, he believes he was told when he bought the tool that program was designed for that purpose flashing computers and such. If anyone has any info on that, or how to's with such tool, or anything at all, that would be great. thanks

Re: OTC Genisys programming
if you have that scan tool and all the sps updates you can program a pcm with the factory flash, you can not change any parameters or adjust anything
so for tuning it would be a good scan tool to monitor engine sensors, but that is it

thanks alot for the info, thats what I needed to know. I know of LT1 edit and have heard of the different mail order tunes. I would guess over time I would like to be able to tune the engine myself, how hard is LT1 edit to use? what all dose one need to be able to tune a car with it?
