i didnt mean straight up lt1 but i was pretty sure they shared the same block.. the trucks engine is a 5.7liter vortec. might save someone needing an maf some money.. lol anyway yes i did get lucky the serial numbers are different but hey its working like a charm!

No, they did not share the same block. The LT1 is a Gen 2 SBC, with the Optispark and reverse flow cooling. The LT1 block was never used in a GM truck. They used the Gen 1 SBC block.

The whole question comes down to how well the calibration of the unknown MAF sensor you put in your car matches the calibration table that is programmed into the PCM. If its close or the same, no problem... the long term fuel corrections can adjust for minor mismatches. But if its a major difference, the long terms might get large enough (either negative or positive) to set a code and an SES light.
