OBD2 and Scanguage 2 questions

OBD2 and Scanguage 2 questions
So i have a few questions.
i have a obd2 to usb cable as well as a scangauge 2
Using the cable I can scan the car with software. Like easy OBD2
But is there a free program with will log the data from the car for later review?
i am trying to find Knock count, but I dont know where to look for it, on the scangauge or the laptop with programs
As well if anyone has the scangauge, can you get knock count, and timing retard to work on there? I have issue with that and can not seem to come up with a good answer anywhere
Maybe I should just go to obd1
