What is the best ay to get a new pcm flashed with the base program....

I mean the new dealer,kragen,napa pcms are totally blank right? The car will not run on one correct? because the base power train program doesn t exist? Or can I expect them to come with a usable program that I can reflash with tuner cat....


All this cause I need a few obd1 pcms ........need one soon.....so if you have one let me know how much.....

The only way to get a program into the blank computer is to take it to a dealer with a Tech-II. They have to plug into the diagnostic port and put a base program in that way. I had to borrow my friends lt-1 transam and take it to the dealer then we swapped the computer out and programmed it that way. This was before I bought my eeprom burner and socketted my computer. Tunercat or LT1 Edit require the base program in order to get the communications going to reprogram it.

 

What happened to your old pcms/cores? I might be able to help with those depending on what happened to them, but I can definetely help you with uploading the right program in your new ones.

I m not sure I know forsure what your rferring too.....sort of just guessing I didn t receive something....?

I still have two obd 2 cores....and one obd 1 core....the obd2's are fine......the obd1 is smoked.....

I still need two more obd 1's.......one is on the way.....that will atleast get me by.....

 

You wrote me about an OBDI a few days ago... You probably forgot already.

Anyway, what happened to the "smoked" OBDI? How did it die?
