Knock sensor problems (maybe)????

When using pcmcomm everything looks alright according to Injuneer's website. However I have some suspicions about my knock readings. Is the knock count reading supposed to be fluctuating while driving? I get a value when I first connect the software but after that it never changes. Also my knock retard has never once changed from 0.0. Is this possible or should I see at least something from time to time? I have no tune that eliminates the knock circuit but I do have the LT4 KM. If their was a problem wouldn't it throw the ses light?

Knock is bad so if you dont see any then everything is fine. I guess if you wanna test it out then put in some 89 octane.

Not really interested in testing it out. But I didn't know if my knock count should be fluctuating or not. Whatever it reads when I first connect to my laptop is what it stays at no matter if its at idle, cruise, or WOT conditions.

Re: Knock sensor problems (maybe)????

Typically the knock count will increment up a few thousand on startup, then may not change for the balance of the trip. The knock count can increment wthout causing knock retard, and knock retard can be present without the knock count incrementing.

The knock count field will continue to increment up to the maximum value of the filed (40,000???) and then reset to "0" and start over.

Thanks for your input fellas. I am still pretty new at this and want to make sure everything is in top shape before I get it tuned. I just wanted to make sure that what I was seeing is for real. Thanks again.
