Hypertech tuning problem

A buddy of mine just got a 1995 Z28 A4 car. He installed gears and bought a hypertech so he could fix the speedo but the Hypertech won't communicate with the car. Any ideas on what to try??? He already checked all of the fueses. Are there any particular ground wires he should check?? We already went over most of the obvious ones.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

Has the hypertech been released from the prevous car. Only works with one vehicle (vin) at a time.

Double check to make sure you're getting power to the DLC port - on a LS1 it's the "CIG/ACCY" fuse, not sure if it's the same on an LT1 (probably is). On mine the cig lighter/DLC is on the same circuit.

All of the fuses are good. We are going to try to put my Snap on scanner on it and see if it works/Scans.
Thanks

Re: Hypertech tuning problem

I assume no scanmaster installed.
Try it on another 95 if possible.
Check part number, I seem top remember some differences around that year and specific vehicles.
Unit may be bad.

Just a few thoughts, too late to think of more

Re: Hypertech tuning problem

He was thinking of taking it back and getting another one just to rule that out.
Thanks
