Good tuning platform?

96 Z, bone stock save for air pump delete.
I'm looking to do a mild tune to offer a little bump to performance to the stock set up. Any advice on a decent plug and play software that I can use on my laptop?

I'm not out to gain hundreds of hp ( Yet), but I'd like the option to tune in mods if/as they happen without having to constantly buy tuning software.

Thanks in advance.

Tunercats developed an OBD-II tuner, but they sold the rights to JET:

Not sure what you mean by your reference to having to constantly buy tuning software. What tuning software requires you to do so? Or do you mean having to repeatedly pay for mail order tunes?
