Re: freescan???

You can get it here:http://www.andywhittaker.com/ECU/Fre...0/Default.aspx

Let me know if you can it to work, cuz when I downloaded it didn't have ANY definition files, so it would let me select ANY car to scan.. But the only real advantagea of freescan is that you can reset your IAC and change you desired idle rpm, which you can not with datamaster which you can also get for free..

I can't get it to work, if you get it too work, let me know what you did.

Any aldl cable should work, I had a lot problems with just using a normal aldl cable to a 9 pin and then using a USB converter, so I just bought the direct aldl to USB cable from moates which worked effortlessly on the first try.

I believe the idle speed change is only temporary (during your test session). Freescan is not a programmer.

That's right. And I haven't actually even been able to do that with it, possibly due to my USB > RS232 > ALDL cable (although it scans/logs fine). I use Datamaster myself, but I've tried Freescan, and it works well.
