FAST and OBDII users inside

I currently am running an OBDI computer on my car right now mainly becuase i wanted to run a double roller and eliminate the Crank Position Sensor. The problem with running it this way is that the OBDI has some downshifting issues from 1st to 2nd with a high stall converter (in that it won't downshift over 20mph but yet the car doesn't shift out of 1st normally until 45mph).

Anyway Id like to switch back to OBDII but still won't have a crank sensor. My question is can i run the OBDII without a crank sensor as long as i have FAST?

Also Im new to FAST and havn't even got the system yet, but I assume in order to change any transmission functions I will need LT1 edit for OBDI or OBDII whichever i end up using?

Any help is appreciated, thanks,
Dan

You dont need the CPS sensor with OBD2 computer. Its only there to detect misfires in the ignition. Leave it unplugged, no need for FAST. It will throw a SES light however, you will need to have that turned off via tuning, or just ignore it.

Okay thanks for the info, i guess that answers my first question. Now anyone know if the FAST system will allow for tranny control? LMK,
Dan

i dont think they have electronic tranny controls, but i could be wrong. There are aftermarket boxes to run the electronic trannies for retrofits, but im not familiar with those either, but they DO exist.

TCI makes a Transmission control unit. I believe they are for 4L60/80E's.

FAST has no provisions for transmission control. The new Big Stuff 3 from the Meaney Bros. does however.

TCI makes a T-Com box that is used for transmission control.

If you need an OBD-II harness that's setup for FAST, e-mail or PM me. I've got one that is everything, including the hookups for the factory ECM and the piggy back harness from Fast Track Performance to splice in the FAST box. I don't need it since I'm not running a factory ECM.

Thanks guys for the help. I actually ended up buying a FAST ecu and TCI tcu together with a harness that eliminates the factory computer altogether. I should be good to go now, thanks,
Dan
