which code scanning software?

Ordered my AKM OBD1 cable today, it should be here early next week sometime. I'm brand new to this so I was wondering which software I should use to scan for codes, if anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

There is a sticky at the top of this forum-TunerProRT is free. TTS Datamaster is good and free for trial. Freescan is totally free. Search this forum or Google for more info.
