Chip Question

i got a corvette L98 350 with aluminum heads, and i wanna put on a HSR intake, bigger injectors, valvtrain work, no ported heards or anythign like that, and a bigger cam, but i don't wanna get into DIY computer tuning just yet, i'm gonna hold off on that, my question is, is there a chip out there, that dramatically unlimits the learning curve of the computer so the computer can actually relearn all the new stuff? i know my buddy has a L98 cast headed 350, and he has a comp cam and converted LT1 intake with 30# injectors, and he called hypertech and they sent him a chip that would work best with his setup, they said it won't be dialed in exactly, but they said just put it in and let the computer do the work......is there maybe a chip out there that expands it even more so it dials it in real close, or should i just go with a hyptertech chip like he did?

Sounds like his car is a MAF car which adjusts to mods "easier" than SD. Does you Vette have a MAF sensor or is it Speed Density?

Re: Chip Question

Yeah, MAF is more forgiving when you do mods. You MIGHT be able to get by on a stock chip, but if you don't want to try that, try http://www.pcmforless.com and they should be able to tune a chip pretty close to what you need.

Re: Chip Question

well i actually talked to a guy from LSRacingchips.com, and he said he would be able to dial my car in pretty close after I do the mods, so I'm planning on going with them for a chip...

Re: Chip Question

I'd go with an LSRacing chip anyday. I have one in my car and it's great. Jamy is a great guy to work with. You won't be disappointed.
