Idle PE mode guys inside
I have been playing with this for a few weeks now and finally I think I have completely solved the rich idle problem for my car.
First time around I had the old def. file so my short terms sky rocketed and I was right back where I started. After getting the new file and setting my 800 rpm range to -17% and maxing the short term correction to 132, things looked good. However something odd.. I am actually showing they are maxed at 134 instead of 132
So then at that point I was getting SES every single time I came to a stop and it really bothered me. What I did was emailed TC and asked them if they could make a new def. file so code 55 could be turned off in the EMC switches table. To my amazement they sent me a new file with this option! So now I get no SES and my idle smells pretty clean. The only concern I have now is that my O2 mV readings are down around .036-.054... do you guys think Im running a risk here of being lean? No knock retard or noises come from the motor so I think its fine. My 30# SVOs are showing 1.2 ms of fuel and my MAF is reaing 6 gps if that means anything.

you coulndt be a good guy and send that file. to me with the disable code 55, i need that for a buddys car.
im not to familar with o2s and reading them from a mv stand point. so i cant help you there.

Re: Idle PE mode guys inside
If your O2 mV's are sitting that low, they're reading a TON of air coming though there, I.E. really lean. If you wanted it right on you would want to see the O2 mV hovering around the 450 mv Range (stoich, 14.7:1).

I'm not running in Open loop and I can get the mixture lean by limiting the integrator values in tunner cat, however then I get a LEAN fuel system code, can't remember if its code 55, if it is can someone email me the DEF as well then? bunker@telus.net
Re: Idle PE mode guys inside
I wouldn't be too worried about running a bit lean at idle with a high overlap cam. Your o2's might read lean but if your idle is stable you have enough fuel to maintain decent combustion. Mine idled fine when my WB was reading about 17:1. If i went any leaner i would start to get surge which seems to be a sure sign of being too lean. Even so, if you're running a shade lean at idle it's not like you going to pop head gaskets of burn up valves. There's just not enough going on at idle to be all that concerned. JMHO
Thats pretty cool that TC did that lil fix for ya. They seem to be good guys.

yes all the lean bank codes and fail codes
44 45 55 63 64
but i have a question
is there not a code for the left o2 fail, because in the constants tbale theres one for the right
