Can LT1 Edit Cause Computer Problems with frequent use?

I have a 94 Impala SS. I ave been using LT1 Edit for about a year now on it and the pevious owner use it alot too. I have noticed lately that when i am making new programs with LT1 edit that the computer is not accepting all the files i write. For example it wont change the mili-amps in the trans, and the shift points arnt as consecutive as before. The trans is brand new (bowtie overdrive) or could the computer just need replacing because it has 96k miles on it. please help me out.

Never heard of such an issue, and dont know how it would be possible unless something is going on with LT1 Edit, since overwriting the flash will overwrite the entire chip - no selectivity is involved.

Good luck (?)

Can i replace it with any used '94 lt1 computer that hasent ben messed with by lt1 edit or does it have to be a brand new impala ss comp. i am new to the whole computer running car thing. i drove a '69 camaro ss for 4 years (computer free alot easier). any advice would be great

The software is registered to a specific PCM, so to use it with a second PCM you will need to purchase a second software license (for $50 if I remember right). As long as someone like Ed Wright hasn't locked the PCM, you can use (read and write) it.
