aldl timing adj?

Ok so i got my OBDI PCM in the car and tunercat is working fine, but i can't get datamaster to work. Whenever i try and do a read the status bar says i don't have sync. with the PCM. After reading the help file i figured out this was due to the ALDL timing being out of adj. However that bar is huge and after an hour of trying values i gave up. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this before and if so where did there values end up. (i tried the 190-210 range) then started at 1 and worked my way up to 45 before i gave up)
