1995 Z28 code 43 runs sluggish, Help Please?

Hello, I'm new to this site due to being the proud owner of a 1995 Z28 camaro that has been misstreated but i plan to bring her back to life. The car when i purchased it had a bad miss and ran horrible with just spirts of power every now and then. After searching i notices the plug wires were routed poorly and some were burnt and taped up due to the pacesetter headers that were installed on the car. I purchased plugs, wires, oil ect.. After new plugs/wires were installed, it ran 90% better with no dead miss. The car runs very sluggish with low power on take offs but picks up a little power at upper rpms but it kinda backfires or pops when it starts to wind down. At the local parts store we ran the scanner and it pulled up a code 43 Electonic spark control module. I have tested the knock sensor and it tested at 4.8 v and when i tested the ohms read between the 3.3 to 4.5 range. The carlot i got it from changed out the PCM computer. It has been replaced with a used one that was written on with a marker 94-95 camaro/firebird 5.7 and As-Is. I pulled out the wiring harness going to he knock sensor to check wiring back to the pcm and the blue wire was ok but there was a black wire that was just cut off and im not sure where it goes to. Im trying to get this car back to perfect running condition, please tell me where to check or what to do before i need to go buy a distributor or another computer. Thank you for your time.

There are 2 "thin" black wires that run along with the harness, on my 93. Both are ground wires, and ground to the engine block.

If you have code 43, the pcm pulls 12 degress of timing 100% of the time under load. That will kill your horsepower. Get if fixed ASAP.

Ohh, also code 43 refers to the knock sensor fault, and has nothing to do with your distributor.

Assume you meant 3.3K to 4.5K ohms not 3.3-4.5 when reading the KS terminal to ground with the connector off. courtesy of shbox .. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#knock_sensor
