speaking of a 67 RS vert
speaking of a 67 RS vert
my grandfather has a 67 RS convertible with the 275horse 327. it's a powerglide car. all original. it needs some work. he tells me the car was originally royal plumb purple (a very rare color). anyways, when he passes, I will hopefully get a chance to redeem his past goals with the car and make it what he had always wanted. there's way too much crap on the hood to open it and read the VIN, but is there any other way i can get the VIN off of it? i hate to go asking him for an insurance card, but i'd like to find out what color it really was from the factory. the car has great potential, and it only needs a new quarter, paint, and wheels. anybody know a little more on the specs of the royal plumb cars or where else i could find a VIN?
Re: speaking of a 67 RS vert
You do know that the color is not part of the "VIN". But on the plate on the firewall.
My brother special ordered a Z28 Coupe in 67 in royal plumb purple, without the stripes. He got so much flak on the color he sold it within the year.

Re: speaking of a 67 RS vert
from what I've seen, the color makes the car very valuable. I don't mind the royal plumb color, but if i painted it, it'd be more of a midnight blue than a straight purple.
Re: speaking of a 67 RS vert
If it's all original, you should put the stock paint job back on it. Might as well keep it all original if you can, you know? There aren't too many all-original Camaros out there anymore.
Re: speaking of a 67 RS vert
no idea. I'm guessing so. he already has new bumpers and a new quarter to put on the car. he just never got around too it. Most people don't leave their first stock becuase a lot of them were ugly and slow.
