Piston to valve clearance problems

I was wondering if anyone knew when piston to valve clearance problems come into play on a big block chevy. Why I ask is because the big block iam building has arias piston with a 41.5 cc dome and a comp height of 1.765. These pistons make a 11.5 compression ratio with 118 cc chamber.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Piston to valve clearance problems

It depends primarily on the cam as well as the design of the crown. Of course, the compression height, gasket thickness, and piston deck will also be important. You really need to measure it once the motor is ready to assemble. However, there are certainly combos with a lot more than 11.5:1 out there, so it will proabably be ok.
