Norwood Strike Question?

Ok my uncle is supposed to have the 72 SS VIN tommorow but he said that if you run the numbers it wont show the body style because during the strike about 500 or so camaros didnt get there VIN's registered with their body styles, is this true?

Could be. GM had a nasty UAW strike in 1972. Made a real mess of the new car intro schedules and shortened the production runs of several car lines.

I've never heard anything like that. The 5th digit of the VIN will tell you what engine originally came in the car and that will tell you if it's a real SS or not. What's the first 5 digits of the VIN?
