Weld Racing Pro-stars broke

I probably really knew better, but I raced my Camaro on an 1/2 mile oval and my right front Weld Racing Pro-Star wheel broke! It is a 3 piece design that broke the entire center section off the inner rim. I put my 24 year old spare on and beat an Acura RSX, but then got beat by a Mitsubishi Starion. Oh well, it was exciting, but my oval track career is over. :-p

Yeah, the right front wheel takes a beating.

My dad and his buddies used to run 15x7 rally wheels on everything but the right front of their dirt cars. On that wheel they'd run the 15x8 Corvette wheels just because they were stronger.

Welds are for drag racing only. Its hard to get a wheel that weighs next to nothing and has structural integrity also.

That's a tough break dude, but Weld Wheel *does* tell you not to use them for that purpose.

I have Weld Pro Stars also. Great wheel, especially for street/strip action.

yea ... I knew better, but I figured these are street legal rims. If they can't go around a corner on street tires, they really aren't that safe.
