A bare BB is ~270lbs, a bare SB ~185lbs. Of course, the heads and rotating assy. are also heavier for the BB. So, figure ~150lbs difference or a bit less. Of course, you can always use cubic $$$ and get an aluminum big block with lightweight parts.

thanks. i was just curious, i went ahead and put the built 396 in it anyways, when i get rich ill probably get the new LS7 crate motor. im going to see if im even satisfied with how it will performe on a road course. sorry drag racing is to short, fun, but short for me. thanks for the info.
