i have a friend that just bought a 80 t/a questions for the owners of the 301 turbo
ok well he paid 800 bucks for this t/a all white red interior 301 turbo
the linkage is screwed up so it wont go into reverse and the front of the guy who had it last said he parked it after the front of it started smokin a lil bit.. but no batteyt so it wouldnt start for us...
my question is is it worth rebuildin the 301 being there werent many of then out there or will the turbo set up off of it work on a beefed up 350? as in could we pull the motor swap the engine and bolt it back on....
let me know if ya can help .....

i am about to drop my LT1 drive train out of my crashed camaro into an impala so we should have fun betweenthe cars

Yah.. if the 301 doesn't run, take the opportunity to swap it out for a 400 or 455. Those should bolt right in, (i'm not sure about the mounts, but I"m pretty sure the trannys bolts up). Forget the 350, a Pontiac 350 has too small of a bore to perform aswell as the bigger Pontiacs, and if you're going to do a swap you might aswell go big.
I picked up my last 400 for $200.00 Canadian.. well worth it.
