Help me get my car cranked
Cool! Every time I've tried to pull a distributor out and hold its position, it never works when you put it back in. It always rotates the oil pump tab just a little bit and doesn't go back into the same spot. You end up going around in circles rotating it tooth by tooth until it lines back up again. Good to hear it's running.
Jeff, drop the distibutor into the cam where it's supposed to be, if it won't drop that last little bit into the oil pump, just turn the motor over with a ratchet and watch the distributor drop into place. Works everytime.

Woohoo!!! I finally got this thing fired up today!! And it's all thanks to you guys and your steady flow of help!! It's hard to find that kind of help and I want you guys to know I really appreciate it!! Now I can't wait to get my new exhaust in so I can see how it runs. The old stuff wouldn't fit up to my new headers. Thanks again!

That's great! Now, enquiring minds want to know............... what was the problem?!!!!!!!!
Jody
I think it was just a combination of the rockers not being adjusted for the solid lifters plus the timing being off. I did change the cap and rotor button too, that could've even been the problem I guess but doubtful. C-ya!
