big block in 80s caprice
can it be done and how easy is it? the engine bay is massive would be a cool car to throw a th400 in with a 454 and a 12 bolt and spray it till it pops or fly through the lights in 9 seconds with 5 people in the car lol

hilarious I found you in here, asking this question. I actually just got the opportunity today to buy a 454 from someone at my work for $100. and Im thinking of either putting this in my 96 9C1 caprice car, or maybe my truck (work truck). also I got an old 402 that I have tons of aftermarket parts on that would swap right onto this one. just not sure if my heads (that are ported and have SS valves) would be a good match. figured Id poke around this forum and see what I find.

there is enough room to fit a tall deck BBC in an F-body, so there is definitely more than enough room to do it in a B-body.
The BBC uses the same engine mounts as a Gen1 SBC, but the LT1 is different.
I have seen a few big block conversions to 80s and 90s B-bodies.

yay GM heads, off a 402 from a 71 chevelle. casting #3993820. I believe these are small valve heads. oval port with the open chambers.
the 454 has oval port heads already on it. the ports do look the same. but the heads on the 454 have nasty ports (due to poor casting) that may be what mine looked like before the porting. I dont have any port flow #s yet, but the job looks really good. I had a guy in my class do them way back when I was goin to comm. college.
