Post Battery not charging, must be a short somewhere?

Hey guys, the other day, the wire that runs to the alternator decided to fall down and get cut by the fan belt. As it did that, it shorted out the voltage regulator, I mean that baby was toasted. Anyway, I replaced the voltage regulator and to my surprise the generator light is on. I thought maybe it was the alternator so I replaced that too and the light is still on. What gives? What could be causing the generator light to stay on? The battery is definitely not charging. What else should I check?

Check the terminal behind the battery and the wires from there to the regulator

Check to see that the battery is in good condition, this happenedto me just voernight, and the battery was in there for nearly 9 months when it decided to do this, the bottom bolts that hold the battery try down poked a hole in the bottom of the battery and drained one of my cells, it would not start on its own, but a boost would fire it up and it was driveable but when i shut it off, that was it. Hope this helps. Make sure all your cells are full of juice.
