Wiring question.
Wiring question.
I had my woofer and amp "professonally installed." I asked the technician how he wired up my sub to the amp. He said it was wired at four ohms. However, when I went home I pulled the sub out of its box, and it was wired in a series. With this particular sub, that produces 8 ohms. How does that work with my amp? I thought this particular woofer could be wired in parallel to produce 2 ohms, and I asked the guy. He told me that my amp could not be bridged at 2 ohms. Could anyone verify what I'm being told?
read the specs on the amp.... your "technition" does NOT know what he's talking about...
Wire it up in parallel, and call it a day...
Right on the front page it states that that amp is stable down to 1 ohm...

Thank you. I thought something looked weird when I asked him how he hooked the sub up. He said it was running at 4 ohms, but he wired it up like the third picture on this chart. He must have thought it was a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub or something. It looks like it should have been wired like the picture before it. Thank you all for your help.
