Wiring harness for Bose
Can some body please tell me what the male plug for the head unit in the Bose wiring harness looks like?
From the back of the Bose CD player (94) it appears the plug should have four parts. The male plug in my car only has 3. I think the previous owner hacked the wring harness and spliced on a standard male plug for a standard GM headunit.
Can somebody confirm this for me or possibly send me a PIC!!!
.. or where can I buy the plug!!!!!

Re: Wiring harness for Bose
You need a kit/adapter called the 99-3009... from Circuit-City.
Im uncertian of the first numbers... but I know the last part after the dash is 3009...
It should fit the bose harness exactly... it will give you labels for directwiring.. or.. you can buy another adapter to mix with the 3009.. that fits to your particular radio..
Hope this helps.

Re: Wiring harness for Bose
The Fourth Spot is only for the rear speakers. The 94's never had rear speakers. So it should be ok.... However, if the original factory plastic clip is missing.. and something else is in its place... you might have a bigger problem than I thought.
If the 3 area/prong sets are not matching into the "94" CD player.. then it might not be a 94 CD player... Thats all I can think of.
Its that, or somehow... a different GM plug was in fact re-wired in place of the original factory harness..
I only wish I had pictures of what your talking about.. I could compare it to mine..

Re: Wiring harness for Bose
The fourth spot is a dummy spot that covers some connectors on the CD player unit..
Since there are NO factory wires for rear speakers even run..they will not exist on the factory GM adapter they will just be missing from the wire harness.. IE. (3) not (4)...

Re: Wiring harness for Bose
OK. I will get the Bose CD player in the mail this week. I will then try and match it up to the connector I have now.
I hope it works becuase the wiring harness has clearly been cut and retaped. We will see I guess. If it doesnt work I will get a pic of everything and see if you guys can help me from there.
Thanks.

HELP!!!
I got the Bose CD player and my plug does not fit the head unit. I checked my wiring and on closer inspection it has NOT been cut!! It just had extra electrical tape on it for some unkown reason.
SO.....
Did the different year CD players come with different plugs?
What is the deal with the Bose tape player? Do you think my car could have a had the Tape instead of the CD and thats way the plugs are different?
I need some help on this one!!! What do I do?
I hope the below makes sense!!
This is the plug on the back of the Bose that I have.
