Valentine One Radar Detector and Spectre RDD

I recently moved to Virginia where radar detectors are illegal. There is a new radar detector detector called the Spectre RDD that can pick up even Valentine One's! (See below which I copied from the Valentine One web site.)

Some internet surfing shows that there are some new breeds of radar detectors that will make RDD's (Radar-Detector Detectors) completely obsolete by the end of this year (2004) and more will follow into 2005. However, I did not find any specific brand names that are claiming to have an 'on the shelf date' or any other firm claims for that matter.

Does anybody know anything about this issue? It's always only a matter of time before the next generation comes out and makes the old obsolete. Valentine One's have been 'invisible' for a long long time. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit the market first with new invisibility, but nobody seems to be talking.

"Recently, we've been hearing of another radar-detector detector, the Spectre RDD. Used first in Canada, enforcers of detector bans in Virginia and Washington, DC, and the nationwide ban in heavy trucks, surely have this tool on their must-have list. It claims to have been designed specifically "to detect the latest state of the art stealth-type radar warning receivers." Does it find V1? Very likely, according to reports we've been hearing from a few V1 users. One participant in an internet chat room, who claimed to be a Canadian enforcer, said "I've snagged a Valentine 1 already." We've been unable to acquire a Spectre RDD for testing. Until we can do so, be advised that no super-heterodyne receiver is perfectly undetectable, and that includes V1."

I've been doing some research on this as well. The new Spectre 2 RDD has become extremely popular in North America lately, and it detects everything. Nothing on the market can beat it.

If the big radar detector manufacturers can develop a product (and you can bet they're trying) they aren't saying anything because after all, the minute they change something the makers of the Spectre 2 will try to beat it.

Last year the Spectre 2 went out for trials here in Ontario and was very successful. They caught V-1, Bel, Cobras - you name it. It picks up on detectors emmitting 11-15ghz and allows the police to zero in on them in unmarked cars without even setting off the detector. Then you're dead meat.

Do not use a radar detector in states where the Spectre 2 is used. You will get caught.

I believe the Spectre 2 is an even bigger threat than anyone is acknowledging. I believe it will encourage legislators to pass laws against radar detectors because they now have a tool that can enforce the anti-radar law easily.

That is why it is urgent that a new "stealth" detector be developed ASAP. According to an article last year at speedzones there was one new pre-production prototype that cannot detected by the Spectre 2. The article did not say whose it was. Unfortunately the Spectre 2 is modifyable also so if you're undetectable it may only last for about a year.

I am confident the Spectre can eventually be beaten. Unfortunately we'll have to wait for the solution to come out.

Making them illegal for truck drivers was only the first step in making them totally illegal. But nobody fought for the truckers because, hey, it doesn't affect *ME*, right? Wrong. Just another constitutional right being slowly taken away from a population of sheep.

This country is slowly becoming the first truly successful communist nation in history. You can't take a dump in this country without breaking some petty law or ordinance.

9-11 Was the clincher. The terrorist won that battle. They sent our economy into a death spiral, they made us afraid of all sorts of nonsensical things, and they made all the sheep in this country give our government the authority of the Gestapo. You can now be monitored without a warrant or court order, and you can be taken from your home in the middle of the night without being arrested, no rights read to you, and no explanation of where you're being taken. Read up on Bush's new 'Anti Terrorist' policies. They apply to YOU as well as the terrorists.

It was only a matter of time anyway, 9-11 just accelerated it a bit.
