Yea good question. I just got my Alpine Type R's and was also thinking about making a back seat box. I have a 92' Firebird with the bucket seats. I was gonna mount each 12" on each side and put the amp in the middle with some plexiglass (i use way to much plexi) I was thinking that the bass might not form being so close to the listener but then i thought maybe put the ports on the top area or face the subs on top of the box facing the rear hatch. If anyone has done this please respond. Im gonna make one for the back either way and just mess around with facing the subs and ports in different directions. Thanks for the help and 1995greenta Ill let you know how it comes out

I don't know, I get plenty of bass. I have a 'vert so I realy didn't have many options to get good bass with the top down.

Yea that looks pretty nice. Is the box ported? If so where are the ports located?

No, it's a sealed box.

Have you thought of getting anew holder for the t tops and put it where the seats were then put the box in the trunk where the ttops were and put a piece of plexi over box and put leds around it. Just a thought. Hope it helped

Alright well I started on the back seat with split boxes like I was recommended to do.

Back Seat Sub Box

Should have it finished up this week. Just waiting for the amp. Then Ill make everything look like one unit and carpet it. Hopefully it will sound nice.

Yea the page numbers changed on me. Im gonna be pushing 600RMS (300RMS to each sub). Im hoping it will be louder then my previous 1200RMS system which consisted of only one sub. Im not really going for SPL but more clarity this time around. I wanted to finish it this week but the guy I bought the amp from sent it to my house address instead of my school address so now I have to wait till next week.

White kid:

After you finish the box you should consider fiberglassing the whole thing. I've been working on my amp rack this week and glass is really easy to use and it dries fast (which I like), you can check out the installs on page 8 of my 2000 camaro page.

We should get a sticky called "Custom Enclosures" and whoever makes an enclosure can post pics and plans on how to make it if they want.
