couple of questions:
1. my kenwood works but the display is out(no visual) and now i cant control any of the buttons. it acts as though it is locked, so im forced to listen to the volume and same radio station as they are uncontrolable.
2. my sub will kick on and off....it will work for 5 mins and then will just cut off and not work for a long while..im not even pushing anywhere close to full power...i am getting power to the amp and no error message to amp(have also tested the amp)....this happened before the kenwood started acting up.

 

(1) try holding down the reset button on the HU
(2) is the HU and amp Kenwood and do you control your amp thru your HU? who knows, maybe it'll go away after the HU is fixed/reset -- what are teh specs on the amp and sub?

 

tried to reset radio with no luck....i dont control amp through hu...the amp is also kenwood its 600x1...the sub is an 10" infinity

 

it sounds like your radio is taking a dump. could it be the rca output from the radio causing the amp to have no sound, or is the amp dead?

 

i had the amp tested and tech said it worked fine.....here is the weird thing, the sub and and amp will work fine when i turn the key backwards in acc, when i start the car it still works fine, but after around 10 mins of driving is when my sub stops working. i also dont have my battery wire hooked up to the battery directly. i can post pics of any of this if needed..

 

you gotta run it straight to the battery not the accesory terminal this could be part of the problem

 

why is that?

 

its not getting enough juice. other things are taking power from that one wire that goes to the acc from the batt.. connection. not to mention all the relays, fuses and connections it has to run through before it gets to the amp. that should be the reason it is cutting off. you have to connect it up the the batttery.

update: got a new kenwood hu and it solved all the problems. knock on wood......
