I just bought this HU and was wondering what i needed to install it the simplest way possible. I have a 97 camaro with the monsoon system. I know they make harnesses that are like plug and play, but i also dont want it to sound like crap. Later i will be buying new speakers, and running new wires to the speakers, so i wont have to deal with the monsoon stuff. But for now i want it to sound good, and be an easy install. So could someone recomend something or post a link or something?

 

Really only one way to install it... just purchase a wiring harness and mounting kit (or look at HUmount.com's mounting plates).... not sure why you think it would sound like crap..

 

i dont think it will sound like crap, i just wasnt sure. I thought there might be more than one way of doing it with one better than the other. What harness will i need?

 

Any one should have it, bb, cc, autozone, walmart etc. Its a standard 90s gm wiring harness. Metra part number ending in 1858 usually a 70-1858. Make sure when you wire it you take the wire saying amp turn on from the radio and connect it to the power antenna wire in the car harness, this makes sure the monsoon amp turns on
