Question stereo troubles

I put a post up earlier about a stock stereo problem but I'm not sure it's the stereo causing the problem even though that radio is now permanently doing weird things. I have a 96 firebird with the 10 speaker option. I have a PAC OEM-2 hooked up to it for my amp. Something is causing any stereo I put in it to just shut the volume off after a few seconds of playing. I can turn it back on and it will play but do the same thing. What could be causing this? Has anyone had problems with the PAC stuff installed? I've tried three different stock stereos and the same thing happens for each one. The one that came out would just fade away after I turned it up. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Thanks,
Aron

You should be using the OEM-1 not the OEM-2.

The OEM-2 is for stereoes that use common ground speaker systems. Our cars use floating ground speaker systems. Thats why you need to use the OEM-1

That's nice that you think it won't work, I called PAC and they say it does work for my application. They told me the difference is OEM-1 is plug and play and the other has to be spliced in. If you read the instructions for it you would know that it is for many different applications.

If you read the info on PAC's web site it says that the OEM-2 is for systems that use common ground speakers. The OEM-1 is listed as using floating ground speakers which is what most cars use these days.

The OEM-2 works for both applications. Do you have any helpful information or are you going to keep dwelling on some bad information?

OK smart *** explain to me then why everyone I know that has tried the OEM-2 has had problems but the ones that use the OEM-1 don't.

I'm not trying to be a smart ***. I'm giving you the information I have. What problems have they had? I called PAC before I ordered the part and they told me it worked for my application. If you have other information that might help please feel free to let me know, that is what I asked for in the first place.
