Speakers won't work

After helping my brother set up his sub and amp in his 96 mustang, I figured I'd get the same thing. I did the same thing we did with his, but music won't play through the speakers. The sub works just fine and i can hear the music through it, but the 5 speakers won't play music. The stereo is putting out power, the amp is getting power, and we even checked the speakers, all of which are good. What could be the problem?

Re: Speakers won't work

Without knowing the details of the car - year, model, factory stereo install, aftermarket parts, etc. - it's really hard to respond. For example, a lot of the early 4th Gen Camaros had a Bose system, totally unlike what was used in the Firebird.
