Satellite Radio

Which one would you recommend and give me a couple reasons for your choice.....XM or Sirius? I'm in the market for satellite radio and I'm not sure which one I want.

Are you replacing your radio or keeping it stock? Do you want to be able to take it into the house or another car at all?

I have an Alpine deck with an XM tuner hooked up. Everything is ran thru my radio. I like XM because its $10 a month. There are some channels with commercials, but its not overbearing.

If I had my choice though, Id go with Siruis. Just for the simple fact it has more of what I listen to (techno, house, remixes). Granted, its $13/month though. Little bit more expensive. BUT with Sirius you can get a lifetime membership for like $400 or something.

If you are staying stock, you have the Plug-N-Play units to deal with. XM has the Delphi SkyFi setup and Sirius has the Kenwood and Audiovox.

The PlugNPlay's are big and kinda bulky. But you can always get a house adaptor so you can take your music inside.

Hope this helps.. If not, send me an e-mail and Ill be more than glad to help out in anyway that I can.

Well if you change the headunit XM will work with Alpine, Sony, and Pioneer. Sirius will work with Kenwood and Panasonic. Im sure there are other brands they will work with also.

I have the Alpine setup. Its really nice. I wish Alpine would support Sirius though. Like I said, its more of what I listen to.

Guess it just depends if you want to have commercials or not, how much you want to pay, and what kind of radio you are going to put in your car.

I am gonna go with XM too, since I have a pioneer head unit. I don't know much about the Alpine stuff, but pioneer makes some good decks. Check out the 8400. I used to have it and it was real nice, had tons of features.
