is there a way for me to add a new trunk release button? i dont really like how it in the glove box, very inconvenient place for it.

 

Yeah, just get a push button and mount it under the dash. I would tap onto the wires that are already on the button you have now. Take new wires and run from the old button to the new one and hook them up. Then either button should be able to pop the hatch.
