Replacing Stock 6.5"'s

I bought some Infiniti Kappa speakers as replacements for my stock 6.5"'s. (the ones next to the rear seats). I noticed that the replacements only have 2 wires for input as the old stock ones have 4 wires for input. I was wondering if these new ones would not work or if there was some way to use just 2 of the 4 wires?

Please let me know!

P.S. My car is a 1997 Firebird Formula with the Monsoon 10 speaker system.

the reason you have 4 wires is the wires go to the speaker from the stereo then the other 2 wires that are on the speaker go to the back speakers in your trunk the easiest way to get around all of that is to run a straight wire from your head unit to the speaker.

Sorry, but that's not correct. The reason there are 4 wires is because the mid is a 2 ohm mid and run off the Monsoon amp, the tweet is a 4 ohm tweet and run off the HU. You can't just simply replace speakers in the Monsoon system without changing to an aftermarket amp.

See the FAQ's at the top of the Electronics Forum over at www.ls1.com for more information.
