Rear hatch Tweeters....
Rear hatch Tweeters....
Also I understand that in the Firebirds / Trans ams with the monsoon they are 10 speaker instead of 8. From what I understand there is 2 additional tweeters next to the midrange in the back. I was wondering would it be possible, or desirable for that matter, to add some tweeters to the rear hatch since the midrange is wired for 4 ohm..... Just random curiousness.

The signal to the hatch in the Camaro is more or less a full range signal...you would need a high pass filter of some sort if you were thinking about using those wires. Then, you would only be taking power from the speaker there that already produces higher frequencies anyway... Desirable to have tweeters back there? Definitely NOT....most actually opt to eliminate the speakers in the hatch completely...
Makes sense I suppose. Call me crazy but the monsoon has more than enough power for me, but certain songs (Rihanna's first song, can't remember what it is) come on and it has the bass out the *** for it, but you cant hear crap. And I uaually keep the bass at midway and the treble at 50% more. I liek the thump but I like the clarity also....

Lack of clarity is primarily due to the distortion put out by the factory HU, and the lower quality speakers that have been beaten to death with it over the years.
oops sorry I meant to say treble at 75%. I mean the monsoon can sound really clear and have good clarity. But my complaint with the monsoon is the fact that I seem to have to change something (volume, treble, bass, ect) really often. I understand that is just different music for you. Maybe part of my problem is the fact that the "subs" are a matter of like 10" from my head so that mght be why some songs are hard to understand because the woofers are overshadowing the midrange and the fronts.

I still say there is something wrong with your speakers -- either blown or near blown.....thats the only way that the factory woofers could over-power anything...
