Proximity Alarms

I'm looking for an alarm to prevent people from breaking into my car. I was thinking a motion sensor alarm and I am curious if anyone has one. This looks very interesting:

Any comments?

Re: Proximity Alarms

Yep i have one, to be effective just like any alarm you have to have it set correctly. If its too sensitive its almost worthless. I have mine almost turned all the way down since i live iin a big city in regular row homes and it doesn't go off very often at all. Its basically set so if you put your hands inside the window it will go off as a secondary trigger to the pin switch and shock sensor. You can set it sensitive enough so that if anyone walks within 5 feet or so it will chirp and then go off. I would say thats never good cause then a animal could even set it off or rain.

Re: Proximity Alarms

I have a Design Tech Ready Remote car starter so I'm trying to find a way to wire it up. Let's say I had it wired to an on/off switch that just disconnects 12V+, would it go off right away or would it take a few minutes for it to work or will it immediately go off when I flip the switch?
