Opening garage door with 2nd channel on factory alarm

Check this out:

Instructions

I'm probably the only one that thinks this is cool. I just typed these instructions this morning so if anybody sees anything wrong, let me know.

Actually, I think that's really cool. But I'd probably be opening and closing it all the time on accident, I'm in the habbit of hitting the button twice now.

I just put one of my garage door openers up under the dash, wired the appropriate voltage divider up in place of the battery (I used a switched supply so it will only work with the key in), and put a momentary toggle switch in the dash console.

Works great and I never have to replace the battery.

Ever had a problem with the remote getting "out of sync" with the opener? I thought about supplying a switched power source but I was afraid it'd forget it's code hopping stuff and I'd be reprogramming all the time.

I only maybe had to reprogram it a couple of times over the past five years that it has been in place.
