need help mtx 8000

I had my mind set on 2 12" mtx thunder 8000 with the 801 d amp but then i started hearing bad reviews about them. Does anyone have them or know about them what else would be a good choice. I want it loud but clean at the same time.

Try the Alpine Type-S or Type-R subwoofers. My Type-S blows the JL 10W3 I used to have out of the water.

wouldnt that be going down in quality from thunder 8000's to a type r and also I decided to do two 15's because its not much more money at least with mtx.

I have a year old MTX 8000 12" and I love it. MTX is a very good brand, especially their amps and subs. The Alpine Type R's are pretty good subs too, but I'd still get another 8000 over the Type R. I install at Circuit City so I hear both of them all the time and you can feel the MTX more than the Alpine. Either way will sound good, but the MTX will hit harder and give you a little deeper bass. But just like all subs, it's all about the enclosure. Get a sealed box and keep your internal volume right at .9 ft^3 (1 ft^3 box because the speaker displacement is .1 ft^3) and it'll sound good. With 2 of those 8000's and that 801D, you're gonna be hitting very hard. That amp is actually pushing close to 650W constant at 2 ohms. So just wire them in parrallel and I garuntee it'll rattle you.
