need help choosing subs
are you kidding? audiobahn is amazing. several of my friends audiobahn equipment beats down the block. its lasted a long time too. their stuff seems to beat all the kicker equipment around here. the audiobahn immortal series is supposed to be killer
Lol, their SQ is trash, over-rated in every aspect, and really just don't slam. REally depends what Kicker your comparing it to and how you compare them, amps, box, car. But I know L7s would slam much harder than any Audiobahn sub.
On top of the fact, people with Audiobahn subs usually think they are the ****. I had one guy think he was louder than me, he had a 15" audio bahn in a sealed box. We sat in both cars (mines WAY louder) and hes like mines a lil louder, but I can't sit in yours for too long the pressure is too much......I usually see ignorance like that with Audiobahn owners lol.
Anyways what is your price range for subs I will direct you towards a few subs that will blow them out of the water. I will reccomend 2 Type-R 12s with a Hifonics BXi2006D in the biggest ported box you can fit. I guarentee that will beat everybody on your block if you set it up right. And cost about $500 for subs and amp.

my friends aren't that cocky. I had 2 kicker 15's(XPL not L7) and his audiobahn 12's beat louder and harder than mine ever did. Another friend of mine has 2 L7's in seperate sealed boxes and the kid with the audiobahn 12's in a vented box is wayy louder. Im not saying the L7's aren't loud, they just aren't AS loud as the audiobahn.
I dont want a really big box. I was going to get the well enclosure from subthump but I decided I'd rather have my trunk area so I want to go with the hidden ones. I forgot the name. I'm either going to go with subthump or build my own out of mdf.

Well comparing ported to seal isn't even fair. Nor do I know what power each has to them but in best scenario for each sub head up, the L7s would blow away Immortals. If your going with a sealed box, I'd say go with a Fi SSD and get a hifonics amp to give it at least 750 @ 2 ohms.

thats not true, immortals will be louder
L7s are loud, but their not the best.
i used to run 2 10" immortals, and then i went to 2 10" L7s, and then went to 2 12" RE audio SXs
L7s are mainly hype, but are decent for the money (better stuff for the money)
Iono, I really hate Audiobahn and Kicker. But it really depends what enviroment you put each in, in each sub in their own ideal conditions, my money is on the L7. Anyways RE SXs are bad-*** subs (at least they were, haven't heard about them since they got bought out). I know the Fi SSDs are REAL badass though (RE SX equivlent, well kinda).
