Music is different from CD's to radio

Got a Sony Explode deck a few years back. I put a CD in and the bass is great and sounds nice, switch to the the radio and it sounds bad and there is zero base. All the stations are close by and get good reception. Any one have any ideas?

I'm thinking it's more of a problem with reception and signal strength. i have a 2009 civic that i installed some subs in and the cd and ipod hook up sound great, but i have to turn the volume and bass up super loud to get much from the radio side. not sure, but i think it's a little normal.
