Reason: Spelling
Does your Service Parts Identification label indicate the RPO code for a Monsoon system? I thought the first Monsoon system was available in 1997 for coupes, and 1998 for convertibles. The “Camaro White Book” confirms this, indicating the 1996 model year was still the Delco-Bose. If that's correct might explain why you can't find the Monsoon amp.
Its a 96 with the monsoon radio. Its has a grey face plate with monsoon on it. Also says theft deteriorate on it. Red display. had to repair bad connection on the display lamp. It might be a late 96. Just not sure were the amp is. Going to take the back seat out and remove the panel. Hoping its down under the speaker.

Re: Monsoon amp location.
The Monsoon amp is just ahead of the spare tire. If you don't see it there, it is not in your car. Just because you have a "Monsoon" radio does not mean you have the Monsoon amp. The radio label shows it was made in 1999. That was certainly not installed in 1996...without the use of a Time Machine. It's been added later probably by a previous owner. Monsoon radios are backwards compatible with earlier year cars. The 96 convertible had no amplifiers available.
