Is it me or do subs hit harder and play louder when facing down into the well as oppossed to facing up...basspass effect maybe?

 

Firing the sub into the floor or a wall is whats known as slot loading. When it's done right cars that use this method have had the best sounding bass I've heard. I have a center console JL Stealthbox in my Tahoe. The sub in it fires into the floor that is about 2" away and it sounds killer.
