Hi guys, i'm new to the forum. Just picked up a 1998 Camaro Z28 6 speed. Here is my question (and yes i did search but was unable to find exactly what i needed). I'm upgrading my head unit to a pioneer unit and need to know if i have the monsoon system. The original sticker on the car says "Upgraded monsoon sound system" and "12 disc changer". I don't see "monsoon" on anything nor could i find an amp mounted in the back compartment. Anyway to know if i have it? Any way to know by VIN?? Thank in Advance!!

 

it says monsoon on the radio face if you have it.......and if you do have it, the amp would be where the spare tire is.....which is on the passenger side rear compartment......take the plastic molding pieces off, and the spare tire is right there....the amp would be behind the spare tire

 

Not all POS Monsoon radios have the POS Monsoon logo on the front. The POS Monssoon amp is located forward of the spare tire above the rear wheel. It is mounted to a plastic plate and is on the fender side of that plate.
