I Just Drove a 2003 Z06 and fell in love with the heads-up Display and would like to know where i can find the parts to install it on my 1998 Camaro SS.

U can't... I've researched it all before.. the closest is the unit that LPE (Lingenfelter) sells which is a Defi VSD 2. I've looked at all the other options from a GP unit and a vette unit, they're way too large to mount inside the dash without MAJOR mods to the firewall.

The Defi unit runs about $200 and works fairly well from what I've seen. I'm planning on getting one when I can afford it.

Well... have you ever taken your top dash cover off? if you have there's about 3/4-1" of room there before the top of the firewall/overhang... if you look at the dimensions of the GP units of Vette units.... they're atleast 3-4" tall.... which means cutting... and to do it right you'd have to remove the windshield... then cut.. then try to re-inforce what you've cut... and I really don't know what else...way too much work for me to do when I can get a Defi unit for $200 and recess it into the coverpanel in like an hour total with no permenant issues or nightmares. I'm not afraid of totally custom work like that.. just to me something that crazy I'd only try if I were doing a ground up restore of the car....

I don't know about the steering wheel.. I haven't looked into that at all...

There used to be some discussion in the LT1 tech section about making a heads up display. You might use the search function and see if anything is left.

Get the Defi unit and make a small fibreglass molding for it and paint it slate grey like the dash so it doesn't look like a pager sitting on your dash.

I found a link to their web site. http://www.defi-shop.com/ or to go strait to it http://www.defi-shop.com/product/vsd/vsd_top.htm If anyone has tried one of these, I would be interested to know your experiences with it.

Lingenfelter also offers a HUD. It's about $200
