Dvd

I've got an alpine HU and 2 LCD screens, I was wondering, where can I get a dvd player to go with it (preferably in dash) and how much do they cost?

You have a million options. Your question is similar to asking "where can I buy tires and how much do they cost?"

Single-DIN dvd players are less common and more expensive than slightly larger ones. If you want a fully integrated head unit that plays dvds, cds, has a tuner, pre-amp and all the usual head-unit features, prepare to pay a TON.

I was briefly looking at the Alpine DVA-7996. It's a regular head unit that plays DVDs. It sells for $1300.

So then I had a reality check and re-evaluated my options. I settled on a JVC KV-DV7. It's a single-din DVD player. It's JUST a dvd player. You still need a head unit to feed the signal into. I'm currently weighing my options between the JVC KV-SH77 and the KV-SH909. This JVC dvd player just came down to the $300 range. It used to be over 2x as much.

Then there's 1 step down. This range has stuff similar to the JVC that I just bought, except that they are a little bit bigger. Shop around and you can get these for between $120 and $250 depending on model and features.

Here is a picture of my JVC on top of my Nesa. I never used the Nesa because it was a little too big to go where I wanted to install it:

If you don't need it to go in-dash, you can save a ton of money by going with something like that Nesa. It comes with a remote control eye that you can mount up front. This allows you to mount it in the back of the car and still use the remote for it. The only disadvantage is that you can't change DVDs while you're driving. In most cases, that's not really an issue anyway.
