DRL Woes

I did a search, but wasn't able to find anything that helped. My right turn signal doesn't work. When I hit the turn signal, it just stays on. The right front DRL/ turn signal bulb isn't lit up. Ok, no problem, right? So as I turn into my neighborhood to replace the bulb, it starts working again. I replaced the bulb anyways and it worked for 3 or 4 days. Now it is not working again. I don't know if it is something with the DRL or with the turn signal. Any ideas? Please tell me there was a TSB about this or something (since I see so many people driving around with a DRL out). Thanks. It is a 99 v6 m5, no mods.

Chris

may be a problem with the bulb's socket or a loose ground. Most likely the socket, try cleaning it up with some contact cleaner and bend the contacts to make a better connection if possible.

I found your post a little contradictory. Does your right DRL work? Does it just not blink for the turn signal function?

I'll try cleaning out the socket. Thanks for the tip.

The DRL does not come on, and it does not flash. Sorry if that was confusing.

anothing problem could be that the blub is loose and wasn't seated in properly. I did that when I replaced the blub one time and I thought that it had gone out. Just something to check.

I would check it out with a new bulb just and see if it works. If a new bulb doesn't fix your problem then it's a wiring mess up somewhere.
