any solutions for subs in convertibles?

Guys I need your help. I just purchased a 97 z28 convertible and have heard negative things about putting subs in the trunk. Rumor has it that when the top is down there is no bass. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Anyone have pics of their systems in their convertibles?
Thanks

I can confirm that when you put the top down, your bass goes bye bye.

It sucks.

I am working on putting some freeair subs up front to solve this.

The best course of action in a convertible is to remove the rear seats and build a custom box in thier place. That's what'd I'd do in your situation if you can afford to give up the extra seating, not like anything with legs can fit back there anyway .

I agree that when the top is down, bass sucks. But here's a couple vert. options for the back. Scroll down, they're near the bottom
