Door speaker wiring questions
I took out all my speakers, clipped the ends, and spliced in new aftermarket Pioneer speakers. Is there a big difference between wiring the speakers directly to the amp and using the stock ones, meaning connecting the GM wiring harness? What are the pros and cons of running all new wires vs. using stock ones? This is in regards to the front door speakers and the back seat ones only. Thanks.

I call tell you that there's a big difference if you run new wires from your amp v/s using the factory wires. I have been using the factory wires for many years before I rewired my system this year and it made a big difference.

here are a few pics of my rewire. I ran new wires from the back, 12awg Stinger wires, to each speakers.

You will get a much clearer signal when running more adequit wiring. You can also bypass the stock amp, if you have a Monsoon, aka "noise boxx" which will REALLY improve sound quality. Are you running these froum your HU internal amp or are you using an external?

Thanks for the replies. I planned on running from an external amp, I haven't bought one yet, I wanted see you guys replies first, well I guess I'll rewire since I'll be using more than the HU, what is a good amp for me to buy, I have a Kenwood HU (mp3 player), 4 Pioneer 6.5 (100W max I think), and two rockford subs. So I want to run the out put from the HU to the amp, and have the two door and two back seat speakers wired through the amp also, right?
