DEI Alarm

I am getting real sick of my old POS Falcon alarm and I want a newer better one. I was considering this DEI alarm:

DEI Alarm on Ebay

I want the auto window roll up on arming and the guy said its an extra $85 plus since Camaros have a chip on the key I would have to buy another module for $35. Is this a good alarm? I like the remote start and window roll up features. Is the price good? Just looking for input mainly. if this alarm is no good what would you recommend?

I installed the hornet 554T in my cousin's '89 vette. Good alarm. Decent range, not the greatest though. DEI is quality though. And you will need the window modules and the vats bypass module if you want window roll down and remote start.

It says it has 1000ft range, thats decent? If that is decent whats good, lol. My falcon had a 10-15ft range, so this will be a big step up I think. Anyone else have opinions on this alarm?

1000ft. must be in extremely perfect conditions or something. To tell you the truth we were a tad dissapointed with the range. We've tested it a few times and it's not what we expected. It is decent but don't expect it to work when you're at the bar. My cousin owns a store in a mall and when he parks in the underground parkade he has to park dirctly below his store and leave his keys in the back for it to work. It works great if your car is parked outside and you're at someone's house but if you're at a movie or in a mall good luck.

If you want really good range try out the compustar 2WSS-AS. I hear the range is really good on them, they use spread spectrum technology and claim 6000ft. of range.

x7x7 - I think 1000ft should be enough, I would be scared with 6000ft that if I accidentaly hit the button in my pocket and that would start my car or set my alarm off, lol

94FlamdS10Blazr - Thanks for the feedback, your Blazer sounds sick as hell from your sig, you got any pics?

DEI packages several different alarms such as hornets, vipers, clifford all are good alarms, I personally have the RS III but getting the RSX 3.5 after i sell me rs3, as for accidentally remote starting it you can program it to turn off after so many minutes. I get good range on mine, but it chews through batteries cause its always communicating with the alarm.
